Adelaide International Guitar Festival 2012
Spirit of Flamenco
12 Aug 2012
Exquisite passion, blazing artistry, irrepressible spirit
The 2012 Adelaide International Guitar Festival celebrates the spirit - el Duende - that arises from flamenco's unique fusion of dance, voice, percussion and guitar.
Florian Remus believes his hands are but tools; it is his heart that plays the guitar. Known for authentic interpretations and soulful compositions, Florian gathers some of the stars of Adelaide's nationally renowned flamenco scene for a performance of dazzling intensity.
American maestro Jason McGuire, el Rubio, has ignited the international flamenco community with astonishing virtuosity and profound understanding of the Gitano spirit. Together with Emmy award-winning choreographer and dancer Yaelisa, he brings luminaries of their San Francisco-based company Caminos Flamencos to Australia for the first time.
Bookings through BASS.
